CHESTERTOWN MARINA STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS

Sealed Bids for the construction of the Chestertown Marina Stormwater Improvements will be received at the office of the Town of until twelve noon local time on April 27, 2018 at which time the Bids received will be publically opened and read. The Project consists of constructing the marina improvements as shown on the plans entitled “Site Plan for Improvements at the Chestertown Marina” prepared by DMS & Associates consisting generally of underground utilities including electric, water, sewer and fuel lines; storm drains and piping; raising the grade of the Marina property; and curbing, parking lot paving and a pervious brick plaza .
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Kevin Shearon, Project Engineer, at DMS & Associates Engineering, Prospective Bidders may schedule an appointment to examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
Bidding Documents also may be examined at the Chestertown Town Hall at 118 N. Cross Street on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or online at townofchestertown.com.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of a deposit of $___50__ for each set. A CD with digital files may be obtained upon payment of a deposit of $5 for each CD. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to “DMS & Associates.” Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2 p.m. local time on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Chestertown Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
Bid security in the form of a 5 percent bid bond shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Contractors will be expected to show evidence of their ability to perform a project of this size in a timely manner, as well as evidence of $1,000,000 commercial general liability insurance and Maryland Workman’s Compensation Insurance.
