Beginning Friday evening, historic Chestertown transforms itself into Victorian-era London and celebrates Charles Dickens and his famous novella, A Christmas Carol. Enjoy carriage rides, family entertainment, street theater, high tea, holiday house tour, a “Run Like the Dickens” 5K race, children’s games and crafts, lectures, authentic food and drink, and a stage production of “Tiny Tim’s Christmas.” Shop in distinctive independently owned shops and boutiques, and enjoy Chestertown’s impressive collection of 18th and 19th century architecture.
TOWN TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICES The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday.
