Kent County’s observance of Memorial Day will include Chestertown’s traditional parade of veterans, Scouts, American Legion members, fire trucks and antique vehicles, and the Kent County Community Marching Band. The parade will start at 10 a.m., in the area of Dixon Valve & Coupling Co., and follow High Street to Memorial Park.
Del. Jay Jacobs, R-36-Kent, will speak at the conclusion of the parade.
Chestertown Elks Lodge No. 2474 is this year’s parade sponsor.
At noon Monday, wreaths will be placed at the obelisk in Monument Park that honors African American veterans.

TOWN TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICES The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday.
