To the Stars and Beyond: Free band concert by the Eastern Shore Wind Ensemble

March 18 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Eastern Shore Wind Ensemble, the all-ages community concert band based in Chestertown and directed by Dr. Keith A. Wharton, will take the audience into space. "Starwatcher" and "Winter Milky Way" will convey the beauty of the night sky as seen from Earth. "Jupiter: The Bringer of Jollity" and "Mars: The Bringer of War," from the famous large work "The Planets" by Gustav Holst, will paint an aural picture of two planets. "Tribute to Space Pioneers," "To the Stars," "Starscapes," and "Suite from Star Trek" will celebrate past and future space travel.The band welcomes new members, without audition or fee.
Rehearsals are held Monday evenings 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Washington College's band room.

TOWN TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICES The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday.
