Dr. Aston Gonazalez will share with us his book manuscript, Visualizing Equality: African American Champions of Race, Rights, and Visual Culture, that, "charts the changing roles of African American visual artists who shaped representations of African Americans during the middle decades of the nineteenth century." A light reception will follow his talk. The event is free and open to the public however we ask that you register so that we may plan appropriately for the reception.
