An event every week that begins at 12:00am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, repeating indefinitely

The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday. Yard Waste and Bulk Trash You must call 410-778-0500 to arrange a pickup, which is free of charge. Bulk trash is picked up Mon. & Fri. – call 410-778-0500 and a nominal fee will be charged depending on the types of items. If you have problems or questions concerning regular garbage pickup, please call 410-778-0500.

Dickens of a Christmas

Beginning Friday evening, historic Chestertown transforms itself into Victorian-era London and celebrates Charles Dickens and his famous novella, A Christmas Carol. Enjoy carriage rides, family entertainment, street theater, high tea, holiday house tour, a "Run Like the Dickens" 5K race, children's games and crafts, lectures, authentic food and drink, and a stage production of "Tiny Tim's Christmas." Shop in distinctive independently owned shops and boutiques, and enjoy Chestertown's impressive collection of 18th and 19th century architecture.

Run Like the Dickens 5K

As part of Chestertown's Dickens of a Christmas weekend, this fun race takes runners through charming, historic downtown Chestertown including the beautiful Chester Cemetery and Wilmer Park. There will also be a Dickens Dash for kids 12 and under. Costumes are encouraged for all ages. For more details and registration information, visit dickenschestertown.org.

Festival of Trees

5-7pm Friday, 10-5pm Sat., 11-3pm Sun. This is a community event that allows the community for all ages to visit a display of trees decorated by businesses, organizations as well as families. This is our way of saying thank you to the community for helping Soroptimist with the betterment of women and girls. Our Christmas Tree display is free and open to the public. Our event is a wonderful way to welcome the holiday spirit. We are pleased to partner with 1st UM Church to allow us to be downtown during the Winter Festival. There will be Christmas Trees, Santa, Mrs Santa and various entertainment groups. We have poinsettias on sale
