An event every week that begins at 12:00am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, repeating indefinitely

The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday. Yard Waste and Bulk Trash You must call 410-778-0500 to arrange a pickup, which is free of charge. Bulk trash is picked up Mon. & Fri. – call 410-778-0500 and a nominal fee will be charged depending on the types of items. If you have problems or questions concerning regular garbage pickup, please call 410-778-0500.

The annual RiverArts Members’ Show highlights the quality and diversity of our arts community. This popular exhibit includes photography, painting and pastels, drawings, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and fiber arts. The show will run from January 2 through 27. The exhibit will be in both the Main and Studio Galleries. RESONANCE: Formerly Kent Chamber Music

THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED FROM JAN 13 TO JAN 20 DUE TO SNOW.The National Music Festival presents Kassia Music in an intimate, fireside chamber concert of “new music with a traditional twist.” The program will feature a string quartet with piano and clarinet. Film: Daughters of the Dust

Directed by Julie Dash, 1991The first feature film directed by an African-American woman to be distributed theatrically in the United States, Daughters of the Dust is a timeless film that lyrically narrates a unique African-American experience. Set in 1902, the film follows the Peazant family, Gullah Islanders who live in a community of relative exclusion off the coast of Georgia. Because of the island’s isolation, its inhabitants—whose ancestors were brought to the U.S. as enslaved peoples—developed a language, society, and culture all their own.
