Sophie Kerr Lecture Series: First-Year Book Event with Dr. Lauret Savoy

Dr. Lauret Savoy is a professor of environmental studies and geology at Mount Holyoke College. Her book Trace won the 2016 American Book Award from the Before Columbus Foundation. Trace was also a finalist for the PEN American Open Book Award and the Phillis Wheatley Book Award, as well as shortlisted for the William Saroyan International Prize for Writing.

Please join us for an interesting evening with three candidates at Cassinelli’s, 323 High St. They are: Michael Pullen, candidate for Maryland’s First Congressional District (https://pullenfor.us/); Owen Bailey, candidate for Chestertown Town Council, 1st Ward (http://owenrbailey.com); and Rev. Ellsworth Tolliver, candidate for Chestertown Town Council, 3rd Ward. Doors open 5:30 pm for a meal with a brief business meeting at 6:45 and the main program starting at 7:00 pm.

TOWN GOVERNMENT MEETING SCHEDULE Mayor & Council Meetings: 1st & 3rd Mondays, 7:30 p.m. Utilities Commission Meetings: 1st Mondays, 7:30 p.m. Planning Commission Meetings: 3rd Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. Historic District Commission Meetings: 1st Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. TOWN TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICES The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday.
