Artist Talk: Jacinda Russell

Visiting Artist Jacinda Russell will present a public talk about her work and artistic practice, followed by an opening reception for her exhibit at China Hutch Projects.Jacinda Russell: Metaphorical AntipodesJacinda Russell: Metaphorical Antipodes The Art + Art History Department is pleased to present a public artist talk by Jacinda Russell on Tuesday, 10/2 at 4PM in Larrabee Studio Arts Center (100 Gibson Ave.- near HR).Following the artist talk, please join us to view Jacinda Russell’s exhibit titled Metaphorical Antipodes at China Hutch Projects (211 Philosophers Terrace). China Hutch Projects ( is an off-campus art exhibition space affiliated with the Art + Art History Department. A reception for the exhibit will begin at 5:30pm.

“An African American and Latinx History of the United States” A Talk by Paul Ortiz

Prof. Ortiz is an Associate Professor of History in the University of Florida. He is also the Director of the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program. He specializes in African American history, Latino Studies, the African Diaspora, Social Movement Theory, U.S. History, U.S. South, labor, and documentary studies. His book Emancipation Betrayed won the the Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore Book Prize from the Florida Historical Society and the Florida Institute of Technology. He will discuss with us his book “An African American and Latinx History of the United States.” This program is sponsored by the Black Studies Program, the Latin American Students Association and The William James Forum.

TOWN TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICES The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday. Recycling: Paper, aluminum, household plastics picked up each Friday call 410-928-3333 (Infinity Recycling).
