Literary House Series: An Evening with Amy Hempel

Amy Hempel is the author of four short story collections. Her Collected Stories won the Ambassador Award for Best Fiction of the Year, and was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award. Amber Dermont is the author of the novel, The Starboard Sea, and the short story collection, Damage Control. A graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, Dermont received her PhD in literature and creative writing from the University of Houston. Her fiction has appeared in TriQuarterly, Tin House, Zoetrope: All-Story, and in numerous anthologies. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday.
