MSG Acoustic Blues Trio The Piedmont Blues

The second band to bless the Sumner stage in this year's series is the MSG Acoustic Blues Trio which will be their second time performing at Sumner Hall. They are influenced by the likes of Archie Edwards, Etta Baker, and Cephas & Wiggins. This night will be filled with traditional Piedmont blues. We hope to see you there!

Maryland Lynching Truth and Reconciliation Commission – An Introduction

In February 2018 Governor Larry Hogan signed into law the Maryland Lynching Truth and Reconciliation Commission after it unanimously passed both chambers of the state legislature. Join us at Sumner Hall to learn more about the mission of the Commission from one of its members, Professor Marshall F. Stevenson, University of Maryland, Eastern Shore and from Mr. Will Schwarz, President of Maryland Lynching Memorial Project.

Scott Ainsley: The Seeds That Made Roots Music

The last performer in this year's concert series is the wonderful Scott Ainsley. He has been a musician his whole life. He was fortunate enough to study music under senior masters in the Southern Appalachian Old-Time tradition, Gospel and Blues traditions of the East Coast and, to a lesser extent, the Delta. Even though those teachers have passed away their teaching and passion still lives through Scott Ainsley's music.

TOWN TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICES The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday.
