In attendance:  Bill Arrowood, Tim O’Brien, Brandt Trou, Caren Saunders, Carol Mylander

  • Agenda:
    • Working meeting for Pumpkin Patch event – 10/26
    • Scarecrow contest – will be paid for by Town.
    • voted to offer gift cards to local restaurants instead of cash prizes
    • CRC members will vote via email by 10/31 – winners announced at the parade 11/2
    • Tim O’Brien has made arrangement for pumpkins from Redman Farms (will pick them up)
    • Budget of $200.00 for pumpkins
    • Additional need of $100.00 for supplies (paint, etc.)
    • Brandt Troup is handling the Pumpkin Derby and will build the ramp and work out the rules
    • Will contact schools and STEM, scouts, etc.
    • Sally Harding is working on the baking contest.  Has put together prize packs and fliers
    • Voted against apple cider press because of concerns dealing with KC Health Dept.
    • Carol Mylander will make arrangements with Land End Farm for straw bales
    • Caren Saunders will make the putt-putt and will get field hockey team to help (Sally has some parts to help)
    • Nivek Johnson is assigned getting clothes for the Scarecrow Contest
    • HHGES PTSA and Kent School parents will be on hand to help with crafts and scarecrow building
  • General Discussion
    • Carol has a question about the Bocce waiting list:
      • Concerned that the town residents didn’t get in because too many KC residents got in
      • Answer, the waiting list is for next season and we reached capacity for the short season
  • Winter offerings:
    • Brandt suggests sponsoring a trivia night (possibly at a local put)
    • Family game night has been approved by the library and will be held every Friday night from 6-8 p.m. in the yellow buildings.  Games donated by WIN Thrift Store.
    • Discussion of upcoming projects
    • Brandt offers notes about baseball
      • Explanation of where on the field it can be placed
      • Suggested reaching out to the KC Babe Ruth Baseball
      • Bill will send emails to KCMS, KCPS Board of ED, MC for preliminary planning meetings
  • Assignment for next meeting:
    • Long Term planning and mapping
      • Homework:  look at the ward maps and look at land possibilities for facilities (owned and not owned by the Town)
      • Look at facilities in other communities for ideas
      • Bill will be meeting with KCP&R in the next couple of weeks to continue efforts to maintain working partnership
