The Town or Chestertown will receive sealed bids until 12:00 noon on Friday, August 16, 2019 for the construction of Phase IV of the Gilchrest Rail Trail, which includes clearing, grading, fill and paving on an approximately .28 mile former rail bed between Rt. 291/Morgnec Road and Foxley Manor subdivision, and installation of a Hazard Identification Beacon and bike/pedestrian crossing on Rt. 291/Morgnec Road. Construction plans for the project are available at Town Hall. Bids shall use the supplied Bid Form with a fixed cost of the work, along with a schedule for completing the work by December 1, 2019. Funding for this project is provided by the MDOT Bikeways Program and the Town of Chestertown

Bidders will be expected to show evidence of their ability to perform the in a timely manner, as well as evidence of all required liability insurance and Maryland Worker’s Compensation insurance. Sealed bids should be addressed to the Town of Chestertown, 118 N. Cross Street, Chestertown, MD 21620 and marked “PHASE IV GILCHREST RAIL TRAIL”. Electronic submissions will not be accepted. A bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid is required. There is no performance bond required, but payments will only be made for work completed and approved by the Town.
