PIA Request Form

Town Charter, § 19-6 (B) (2) Inspection of official record. Subject to the provisions of the Maryland Public Information Act, and upon reasonable notice, any person shall have the right to review the official record at reasonable hours at the Town Office. Any person may, at his or her own personal expense, request a copy of the written transcript of any public appearance. Maryland Code under General Provision § 4-203(b)(1) A custodian who approves the application shall produce the public record immediately or within a reasonable period that is needed to retrieve the public record, but not more than 30 days after receipt of the application.

Requests to review records will be scheduled by appointment only. A staff member will contact the requester to schedule an appointment. Requests for copies of records may be charged an hourly fee for any preparation time past the first two (2) hours. Additionally, there will be a charge of $0.20 per page past the first six (6) pages. All research and preparation fees must be paid prior to documents being provided.
