CHESTERTOWN BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS

NOVEMBER 8, 2017

An Election was held for Mayor, First and Third Wards of Chestertown on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chestertown Fire Hall located at 211 Maple Avenue.

All votes were tallied promptly at 8:00 p.m. In attendance to oversee the process of closing out the election were Board of Supervisors of Election members Robert Ortiz (Chairman), Cheryl Hoopes and Loretta Lodge.  The votes were tallied as follows:

Mayor: Total:  Three hundred forty-four (344)

Chris Cerino – 344 votes

Ward 1: Total:    Two hundred seventy – seven ( 277)

Owen Bailey – 104

David Foster – 135

Bob Miller – 38

Ward 3: Total:  Twenty – seven votes (27):

Ellsworth Tolliver – 27

There were twenty-five (25) requests for Absentee Ballots. Twenty (20) were received in time to be included in the election count.  The Board met to open those ballots on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 5:00 p.m., even though the ballots would not change the outcome of the election.  All members of the Board were present.  The votes were as follows:

Absentee Ballots: Twenty (20) total ballots

Mayor:                 Chris Cerino – 20

First Ward:          Owen Bailey – 8

David Foster – 8

Bob Miller – 4

There was one provisional ballot taken at the election but struck at this meeting as the voter did not register in Ward One until October 19, 2017, missing the October 6, 2017.

Financial Campaign Finance Reports are due on Friday, November 17, 2017. Ms. Mulligan will send reminders to the candidates.

The 2017 Election is now closed.
