We open the season with the Alejandro Brittes Quartet, based out of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. The unique ensemble innovatively explores the traditional, cross-border chamamé musical genre whose epicenter is northeast Argentina, a confluence of indigenous Guaraní and Iberian Baroque influences, slow-cooked over centuries.
