SUSPENDED – Introduction to the Pottery Wheel with Rick Bisgyer (8 weeks)

March 17 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

RiverArts will suspend in-person group programs and activities in all our locations for 30 days beginning March 13. This includes group classes, KidSPOT sessions, Clay Studio open hours, Life Drawing, Photography Club, and Plein Air groups, RiverArts Film Society screenings, and public events.

We believe people need the Arts more than ever during times of stress and crisis, and we remain committed to growing community, creativity, and connection through the Arts. We will provide alternatives to our usual in-person activities and invite you to contact us via phone, email, or social media with suggestions and questions, or just to say hello.

We’ll get through this and learn to practice “social distancing” without “social isolation.”

*Only on Tuesdays*
This class is for beginning pottery students with little or no wheel experience, and those who have taken introductory wheel classes and wish to have more instruction. Students will be working with stoneware clay. They will learn the fundamental techniques of preparing clay, throwing on the wheel, trimming, and glazing a piece, creating a finished decorative or functional pot. Amaze yourself with what you can create!

Tuition includes 8 Open Studio tickets, your first 25 lbs. of clay, and bisque firing, a light firing to prepare pots for glazing.
