Revealing the Commodore Collection

November 4 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Washington College professor Michelle Johnson shares the story of her new book, A Man’s Mark, inspired by a document from the Commodore Collection. Learn about a variety of teaching tools created to showcase the collection.
The Commodore Collection contains approximately 2,000 pages, 100 of which document aspects of African American life from the late 1600s to the early 1800s. These original manuscripts from the 18th and 19th centuries unlock a slice of local history that centers on people whose descendants still live in this area.

Free event! All are welcome.
