RiverArts Salon: Discover Louise Gluck, America's Nobel Laureate, with Dr. James Allen Hall

March 23 @ 5:00 pm - 5:45 pm

Louise Glück: America's Nobel Laureate:
In 2020, the Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Louise Glück, a poet who published her first collection in 1968 when she was in her mid-twenties. In its citation, the Nobel Committee marked Glück's accessible language, her urgent voice, and her use of biting wit and humor. We'll talk about these characteristics–and perhaps more!–in looking at three poems by America's most recent Nobel Laureate.

Link to citation (with brief overview of her work): https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/literature/2020/bio-bibliography/
