Still in Shakespeare’s English, this production of Romeo and Juliet has both of the roles of Juliet and Romeo as women-taking an iconic show and putting it in a queer perspective. Choices were carefully made to make sure this production does not imply homophobia as the driving force of the plot. Rather, we are looking at it as a story of agency and attempting to gain agency in one’s own life.
