Thursdays with the Starr Center – "Freedom Riders" with Director Stanley Nelson

The Crossing Cultures Lecture Series at Washington College presents a free virtual film screening and discussion with award-winning director Stanley Nelson. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the journey of the Freedom Riders, when 400 Black and white Americans risked their lives challenging Jim Crow segregation through the Deep South.
Watch the film ahead of time (https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/freedomriders/) or join us at 5 p.m. ET on March 25 for a virtual screening. Discussion begins at 7 p.m. ET with Nelson, one of the most acclaimed documentarians of our time.

TOWN TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICES

The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday. Recycling: Paper, aluminum, household plastics picked up each Friday call 410-928-3333 (Infinity Recycling).
