WASHINGTON COLLEGE ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

April 29, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

A DAY-LONG CELEBRATION:*11:30 AM: Planting of Tulip Poplar tree, descendent of one planted at Mt. Vernon Estate by George Washington and gifted to the College by Mt. Vernon. LOCATION-Martha Washington Square.

*12:00 Noon: Unveiling of new sign and rededication of Virginia Gent Decker Arboretum. LOCATION: Miller Library Terrace.

*12:30 PM: Educational, fun-filled, award bearing ARBOR DAY GAMES, including Scavenger Hunt. LOCATION: Miller Library Terrace.

*4:30 PM: Lecture by Dean Norton, Head Horticulturist at Mt. Vernon & Honorary Degree conferral on Mr. Horton. LOCATION: Hynson Lounge.
