Dr. De Lorenzo will offer a European-based reading of the notion of 'freedom of speech' as it emerged in the 18th century. As the research head of the project entitled "Monarchic censorship in the 18th century," sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, Dr. De Lorenzo specializes in the relationship between power and speech in the Enlightenment.
