CHESTERTOWN MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEETING

APRIL 10, 2024

 

Councilman Tom Herz called the meeting to order at 6:17 p.m.  In attendance were Mayor David Foster (by phone), and Councilman Tim Brien. Also in attendance were Larry DiRe (Town Manager), Lynda Thomas (Town Clerk).

Closed Session

At 6:18 p.m., Pursuant to General Provisions Article §3-305(b)(14) To discuss, before a contract is awarded or bids are opened, to discuss a matter directly related to a negotiating strategy or the contents of a bid or proposal, if public discussion or disclosure would adversely impact the ability of the public body to participate in the competitive bidding or proposal process.

Councilman Herz made a motion to go into an Executive Session to discuss a contract. The motion was seconded by Councilman O’Brien and passed unanimously.

The Mayor and Council adjourned the Closed Session at 6:24 pm.

In open session:

Councilman Herz made a motion to engage with the law firm of Booth, Cropper and Marriner on an interim basis and hire Lyndsey Ryan to represent the Historic District Commission. The motion was seconded by Councilman O’Brien and passed unanimously.  

Councilman Herz made a motion to engage with the law firm of Braden, Thompson, Mundy and McQueeney, LLP to represent the Town of Chestertown and hire Patrick E. Thompson on an interim basis. The motion was seconded by Councilman O’Brien and passed unanimously.

There being no further business, Councilman Herz moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:25 pm. The motion was seconded by Councilman O’Brien and carried unanimously.
