At 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 the Mayor and Council will hold a public hearing on a proposed text change amendment to Chapter 170-87.C.(5) of the Chestertown Zoning Ordinance. The text change modifies the free standing sign requirements in the C-3 Neighborhood Commercial zones outside of the Historic District to allow signs up to 30 sq.ft. in area and 15 feet in height on properties with 150 feet or more of street frontage. The purpose is primarily to allow larger signage on properties outside of the Historic District where the sign area regulations are currently proportionally too small.
The hearing will take via Zoom and will be livestreamed at www.townofchestertown.com. Anyone wishing to make public comment at the hearing should contact firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 4:00 p.m. on February 16. Written comments are also welcome and can be sent to Town Hall at 118 N. Cross Street.
By Authority of Chris Cerino, Mayor
