NOTICE OF RESCHEDULED PUBLIC HEARING
2017 CHESTERTOWN ANNEXATION No. 1
The Mayor and Council of Chestertown hearing originally scheduled to commence on Monday, October 16, 2017 concerning the annexation proposal known as the 2017 Chestertown Annexation No. 1 HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO COMMENCE ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2017. The hearing will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room at Town Hall, 118 N. Cross Street. The annexation area contains 149.11 acres of land to the south of Chestertown and is commonly referred to as the Chestertown Wastewater Treatment Plant or Town lagoon site. The property is generally bounded on the south by John Hanson Road, on the west by the lands Brice and Stepne LLC, on the north by Stepne LLC, Radcliffe Creek and Stepne 4 Business Trust and on the east by the lands of Silbersack, Trumpy, Low and Wagner. When annexed the property will be added to the Second Ward of Chestertown. The lagoon site has been in continuous operation since 1967 and also serves as the treatment plant for Kent County’s Quaker Neck Sanitary system. Information concerning Annexation No. 1 is available at the Town Hall. Citizens are encouraged to attend and comment or send written comments prior to the hearing.
