  2. Woicke Sculpture Project Update and Next Steps
    1. On July 19 Ben presented the proposed Woicke Sculpture Project to the Town Council for their consideration.
      1. The Council was positively receptive to the proposal.
      2. There was discussion about insurance in the event of damage to a sculpture.  Ben stated that the PAC proposes the town accepts the risk and not insure the sculptures for damage or replacement.
      3. In the event of damage, the PAC would plan to use funds from its maintenance fund (which will have been collected through donations).
      4. In the future, the PAC may investigate insurance based on experience with the installed sculptures.
      5. The Council agreed to further review the proposal and vote on acceptance at a future meeting.
    2. The committee discussed installation planning ideas for the first 8 sculptures.
    3. John mentioned the Chestertown Spy video on the Woicke donation that was published July 26.  As a result, John received an email from Thomas Riford the Maryland State Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Marketing, Tourism, & the Arts congratulating the town on the project.
  3. Carla mentioned the continued need for maintenance on the Broad Reach sculpture in Wilmer Park.  Ben agreed to approach the Town Council at a future meeting to gain their concurrence that Broad Reach maintenance was within the purview of the PAC.
  4. Ben raised the idea of developing documentation for each Public Art Sculpture and suggested this might be an appropriate task for students at Washington College.  The PAC agreed to have Ben explore this option.
  5. Meeting Adjourned – Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday Sep 14, 4:00PM.
