Participants:

- Pam White (Vice Chair)
- Approval of 8-14-21 Minutes – minutes were approved without changes.
- Woicke Sculpture Project Update and Next Steps
- Ben met with the Town Manager – Bill Ingersoll and the town is prepared to receive funds that are donated for use by the PAC for installation and maintenance of Public Art.
- Ben will begin preparing materials to educate the public on the PAC and opportunities to make donations to support Chestertown Public Art.
- Ben has been in contact with artist for “Reading Dog” to plan for the installation at the library. The artist proposed to update the sculpture with a brighter color given its location at the library. The committee agreed on a green patina.
- Pam White agreed to coordinate with Sumner Hall on installation of “The Dance” sculpture.
- Ben has arranged for a Washington College student to organize documentation and records for the sculpture collection.
- “Broad Reach” sculpture conservation and maintenance – Carla coordinated with the Town on the sod around the sculpture being replaced once cooler weather arrives.
- PAC vacancies
- Sam Shoge and Gordon Wallace are moving off the committee.
- The committee agreed to work on developing a document describing the functions and responsibilities of the PAC for potential new members.
- The committee discussed developing a subcommittee structure to allow more task focused meetings and potentially reduce the general PAC meeting to once every 2 months. The committee agreed to work toward that objective.
- Meeting Adjourned – Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday October 12, 4:00PM at Town Hall (and Zoom).
Addendum – on Aug 16 the Town Council voted to accept the donation of the The Woicke Sculpture Collection to the Town of Chestertown.
