CHESTERTOWN NOTICE OF 2021 ELECTION
All residents residing within the Town limits of Chestertown who will vote in the Town election on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 must be registered with the Kent County Board of Election Supervisors on or before Friday, October 1, 2021.  All Town of Chestertown residents currently registered with the County are automatically registered to vote in Town elections.  The Kent County Board of Election Supervisors is located at 135 Dixon Drive and is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, except holidays.  Forms and information regarding mail-in registration may be obtained from the Kent County Board of Election Supervisors, 410-778-0038

NOTICE OF CANDIDATES

On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, the Town of Chestertown will hold an election for Mayor and Councilmembers from the 1st and 3rd Wards.  Any person desiring to have his or her name placed on the official ballot must file a Petition of Candidacy (meeting with the candidacy requirements in the Town Charter) with the Board of Supervisors of Elections for Chestertown at the Town Office, 118 N. Cross Street, Chestertown, Maryland.  Petition forms and information may be obtained in the Town Office or online at www.townofchestertown.com.  Petitions must be filed at the Town Office no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2021.

Thurs., Oct. 28, 2021 – Advertise Election

Wed., Oct. 27, 2021 – Last day to request regular absentee ballot applications

Tues., Nov. 2, 2021 – Election Day – 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Last day to get emergency ballots)

Wed., Nov. 3, 2013 5:00 p.m. – Chestertown Board of Supervisors of Elections has final meeting to make the final count of all totals and certify the election
