UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING

DECEMBER 6, 2021

Mayor Foster called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  In attendance were Council members Sam Shoge, Tom Herz, Ellsworth Tolliver and Meghan Efland, Bob Sipes (Utilities Manager), Jennifer Mulligan (Town Clerk) and guests.

Mayor Foster asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Utilities Commission meeting minutes of November 1, 2021.  Mr. Shoge moved to approve the minutes of the Utilities Commission minutes of November 1, 2021, as submitted, was seconded by Ms. Efland and carried unanimously.

Mayor Foster stated that funds on hand were not available at this meeting.

Mayor Foster asked for a motion to pay the bills.  Ms. Efland moved to pay bills as submitted, was seconded by Rev. Tolliver and carried unanimously.

Mr. Sipes stated that the extension of the water main on Mill Street is finished and once the meter is installed they will be able to run water.  Mr. Herz asked if the trench would be repaired on the trail.  Mr. Sipes stated that he was working with Mr. Sappington to repair the crossing but approaching winter weather was making permanent asphalt repairs a question.  Mr. Ingersoll stated that the work area was leveled with granite stone dust before the race this past weekend until asphalt repairs can be made.

Mr. Sipes stated that behind the Acme Shopping Center there were houses being built on Metcalfe Road and a sewer line has been replaced in that area, which had basically been abandoned (after being built in the 1960’s).  Mr. Sipes stated that these are infill lots and were already considered in the total sewer allocations available within the town limits.

Mr. Sipes stated aluminum chloride was ordered which was a large amount on the bills.

There being no further questions or comments, Mr. Herz moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:47 p.m., was seconded by Mr. Shoge and carried unanimously.
