UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
MARCH 4, 2019
Mayor Cerino called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Council members David Foster, Linda C. Kuiper, Rev. Ellsworth Tolliver and Mauritz Stetson, W. S. Ingersoll, Town Manager, Jennifer Mulligan (Town Clerk) and guests.
Mayor Cerino asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Utilities Commission meeting minutes of February 4, 2019. Mr. Stetson moved to approve the minutes of February 4, 2019 as submitted, was seconded by Rev. Tolliver and carried unanimously.
Mayor Cerino stated that operating funds on hand is $1,849,683.92 with designated capital funds set aside for capital projects at $920,400.00.
Mayor Cerino asked for a motion to pay the bills. Mr. Stetson moved to pay bills as submitted, was seconded by Rev. Tolliver and carried unanimously.
Mr. Sipes stated that he ordered and received a large printer for the GIS Mapping. Moving forward, he will be able to update and correct the maps and reprint them as necessary. He said that they were ready to begin “field tuning” the GIS maps.
Mr. Sipes stated that the Waste Water Treatment Plant meters have been calibrated, which was an annual requirement of the Utilities Department.
Mr. Sipes stated that the first of a two-part biomonitoring test has taken place at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. He said that the test looks for toxicity before water is discharged into the river. The second place will take place in a short timeframe. He said that the discharge water was showing cleaner than the Chester River in the test results.
Mr. Sipes stated that the new scum pump for the Wastewater Treatment Plant was working like a charm.
There being no further business, questions or comments Rev. Tolliver moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:36 p.m. was seconded by Mr. Foster and carried unanimously.
