UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
OCTOBER 3, 2016
Mayor Cerino called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Council members Liz Gross, Linda Kuiper, Samuel T. Shoge and Mauritz Stetson, W. S. Ingersoll, Town Manager, Jennifer Mulligan, Town Clerk, and guests.
Mayor Cerino asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Utilities Commission meeting minutes of September 6, 2016. Mr. Stetson moved to approve the minutes as presented, was seconded by Mr. Shoge and carried unanimously.
Mayor Cerino stated that operating funds on hand is $960,198.76 and an additional $545,000.00 was set aside in capital funds for a total of $1,505,198.76.
Mayor Cerino asked for a motion to pay the bills. Mr. Stetson moved to pay the bills as submitted, was seconded by Ms. Gross and carried unanimously.
Mr. Ingersoll stated that in the week before lightning had struck Well #9 on Horsey Lane (one of two deep water wells). The turbine well pump below the ground was undamaged, however, expensive above ground electrical controls were destroyed. Mr. Sipes had estimated that the costs to repair the well will be over $15,000.00, noting that he was filing an insurance claim for damages.
There being no further business, Mr. Stetson moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m. was seconded by Mr. Shoge and carried unanimously.
