UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
OCTOBER 7, 2019
Mayor Cerino called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In attendance were Council members David Foster, Linda C. Kuiper, Ellsworth Tolliver and Mauritz Stetson, Bob Sipes (Utilities Manager), Jennifer Mulligan (Town Clerk) and guests.
Mayor Cerino asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Utilities Commission meeting minutes of September 3, 2019. Mr. Stetson moved to approve the minutes of September 3, 2019 as submitted, was seconded by Rev. Tolliver and carried unanimously.
Mayor Cerino stated that operating funds on hand is $1,875,490.40 with designated capital funds set aside for capital projects at $961,200.00.
Mayor Cerino asked for a motion to pay the bills. Mr. Stetson moved to pay bills as submitted, was seconded by Rev. Tolliver and carried unanimously.
Mr. Sipes stated that there was a pump with a rusting base replaced at the Radcliffe Pump Station, noting that the Council approved funds for the work in a previous meeting. He said that he replaced some valves that needed it at the same time.
Mr. Sipes stated that the UV System upgrade was partially completed after the company was two weeks late to perform the work. They worked two half days and left the site. He said that he would contact the company to see when the work would be completed.
Mr. Sipes stated that a pump on the Cannon Street had to be sent to the shop to have a new impeller installed.
Mr. Sipes stated that Coventry Farms had a water leak on Devon Drive which took two days to fix. He said that he chased the leak through the development and finally found a pinhole pair of leaks in the pipe at 9’ deep. The leak has been fixed.
There being no further questions or comments, Mr. Stetson moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:34 p.m., was seconded by Rev. Tolliver and carried unanimously.
