UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING

OCTOBER 19, 2015

Mayor Cerino called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.  In attendance were Council members Liz Gross, Linda Kuiper, Samuel T. Shoge and Mauritz Stetson, Bob Sipes, Utilities Director, Jennifer Mulligan, Town Clerk, and guests.

Mayor Cerino asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Utilities Commission meeting minutes of September 21, 2015.  Mr. Stetson moved to approve the minutes as presented, was seconded by Ms. Gross and carried unanimously.

 Mayor Cerino stated that operating funds on hand was $499,071.54 and there was $495,400.00 set aside in capital funds.

Mr. Sipes stated that there was a position posted for a full-time entry level Utilities Worker.  Mr. Sipes stated that anyone who would like to apply can stop at Town Hall for a job description and application.

Mr. Sipes stated that work was still taking place in Priority Zone 1 at the Hospital.  He said that same wells, withdrawals and volume of injections and extractions were expected for the next week or so before they move to Priority Zone 2.

Mr. Sipes stated that there was a large bill for payment for the installation of the generators for Rt. 291 Pump Station and the Radcliffe Pump Station.

Mr. Sipes stated that there were four (4) repairs or private installations this month and the property owners would be billed for that work.

Ms. Gross asked if Mr. Sipes was receiving timely results and communications from the Hospital regarding the injections.  Mr. Sipes stated that he receives updates each Friday.   He said he thought minimal testing was being done and said that he was testing for VOCs, TPH and DROs at the water plant as a precaution.  All were non-detectable to date.  Mr. Sipes stated that the Town was dedicated to the fact that everyone knows what is in their drinking water.

Mayor Cerino asked for a motion to pay the bills.  Mr. Stetson moved to pay the bills as submitted, was seconded by Ms. Gross and carried unanimously.

There being no further business, Ms. Gross moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:45 p.m., was seconded by Mr. Shoge and carried unanimously.
