Kent County's 2020 African American Read-In

February 18 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

This interactive, multigenerational program will celebrate black authors, literacy, reading, and diversity in literature.  You can come just to listen or take part as a reader. 5-5:45pm Stories for children and the young at heart.  All ages welcome.  5:45-6:15pm Quick break for a light dinner 6:15-7pm Readings from young adult and adult literature.  Mature themes may be included. Co-sponsored by Sumner Hall, Washington College Department of Education & Black Studies Program, and Kent County Public Library.

The Town will be divided into two collection areas, both of which will be serviced twice each week. Collection of garbage and trash will be conducted in one area on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the other on Sunday and Wednesday evenings; except no collection will be made on New Years’ Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, but will be made on the next regular collection day after the holiday. Recycling: Paper, aluminum, household plastics picked up each Friday call 410-928-3333 (Infinity Recycling).
